We've never really set up our home computer for Skype, though, because before I went to Rome we had dial-up internet and after I got back we switched to Ubuntu Linux and I've had a hard time getting microphones to work with that. I've always found the sound quality very good, and much better than when I used calling cards for a brief time in Rome. I have local numbers I can call at home and one I can call in England and from there I can call anywhere I want using Skype's rates. I know we're grandfathered in somehow, but to what extent I don't know. But I'm not sure if that program still works for new customers. We currently use Skype through our normal phone line for all our long distance calls.
